A young trans boy named Ash lives in rural North Carolina, a state that is home to the notorious anti-trans bathroom bill HB2. As he begins high school, he has to navigate a hostile political climate and the stress of being a teenager.

For Rebecca, a trans woman and Mexican immigrant living on the border, discrimination comes from many directions. Can she live freely in a state with one of the highest immigration detention rates?

Evonne is known as the "queen mother of the south" and has been housing and caring for LGBT youth for over a decade. After the murder of one of her friends, she creates the first transgender non-profit in Mississippi.

Shane is one of America's first openly transgender soldiers, and uses his advocacy to fight Trump's anti-trans military ban. He is deeply connected to his Native American roots and uses this knowledge to create a better world.
