Onodera has been made program director for Marukawa's "Emerald" division but is frustrated by the editor's indifference in getting their manuscripts delivered on time. While checking on the sales of his latest volume at Marimo Bookstore, Onodera has an unpleasant encounter with Yokozawa, who asks him to move out of his apartment as his presence there disturbs Takano.
