Against her better judgment, Dr. Braun is asked to question witnesses of the kidnapping of a young girl, Emma. Up first is the nanny, Carla Perera.

Dr. Braun next interviews Johanna Weiher, a student. She was at the museum to observe for a writing class, so it is hard for the Doctor to tell fact from her fiction.

Dr. Braun asks to interview the museum guard, Amin Halba. His uncle has connections to organized crime.

Theresa Stern, a mentally unstable young woman, is the next to be questioned. Dr. Braun digs deep to try to understand why the woman is so uncooperative.

Dr. Braun talks to Dr. Max Felsner, who was at the museum during the kidnapping and has the prime suspect in one of his classes.

Dr. Braun interviews Ruth Mellor, a neighbor of the prime suspect. A demand finally comes in from the kidnappers.

Dr. Braun, with the help of the kidnapped girl's father, begins to piece together who is behind the abduction. But she must also look into an old case which is tied, somehow, to the new one.

With time running out for the kidnapped girl, Dr. Braun's brother arrives. Together they work out the truth.
