32 year old slacker Glen Abbott decides to finally get a job so that he'll be worthy of Alison, his dream girl who just moved back in next door, and whose son Josh proves to be a useful ally.

Glen & Josh panic at the thought of having to "put out" during their respective dates on Saturday night.

Glen's parents are fighting and talking divorce so he spends more time with Josh, Alison and her boyfriend as a surrogate family.

Alison asks Glen to bring Josh to Albany for a spelling bee. They reinvent themselves and have a date with a mother and daughter. Glen has the opportunity to lose his virginity but does not want to commit adultery.

Glen makes a new friend after being snubbed by Josh.

Glen dates his former High school teacher Miss Berko.
