Steve and the Hightops have a chance to perform at a local venue, but Cedric, who is filling in for the fourth Hightops, is sick. So they take auditions for Cedric's replacement. When the live auditions fail to produce any real talent, they start listening to audition tapes, and they hear one that they really like. Unfortunately, when they meet the singer, he turns out to be white, and there is some tension between Steve and the Hightops. T-Bone finally gets it worked out with the promoter, and the performance goes on as planned.
