David and Julie connect over a love of music. Kelley meets Danny's boyfriend, who is in the military.

Melissa and David get to know each other, but her wild night in the Bourbon Street bars repels him. Julie discusses with Danny her feelings on homosexuality.

Melissa dates a local frat boy but has doubts about his motivations. The housemates learn that they will produce a public-access show, and meet their boss, no-nonsense Elton.

Both Kelley and Melissa are initially attracted to Jamie, but Kelley meets a young aspiring doctor, Peter. The girls ring in the Chinese New Year by participating in a drag show.

David's stubbornness and solitary streak lead to conflicts with his housemates as they begin the NOATV assignment. A visit from an old boyfriend creates anxiety for Melissa.

On Valentine's Day 2000, Kelley grows closer to Peter; Julie entertains her visiting brother, Alan; Danny has a romantic dinner with Paul.

Kelley takes the lead producing the first installment of NOATV's The Real 7, and clashes with an uncooperative, musically inclined David.

The friendship between Melissa and Jamie is tested when he is dismissive of her hurt over a swamp tour guide's racist language. Julie also gets lessons in sensitivity.

David is the demanding producer of The Real 7's latest episode, leading to more conflict with housemates. David also gets an opportunity to sing the national anthem at a local hockey game.

Melissa's stresses and unresolved issues produce cracks in her bubbly exterior. Devout Matt explores dating possibilities outside the house.

The housemates' Mardi Gras 2000 experience includes a visit to author Anne Rice's house and a spot on a parade float. Alcohol impairs Danny's judgment, jeopardizing his relationship with Paul.

Only Melissa is unenthusiastic about a free vacation to South Africa. The first part of the trip includes a safari, boating, and bungee jumping.

In South Africa, David's housemates see new sides to him, and his relationship with Melissa shows signs of improvement.

Jamie's poor communication and planning as a TV producer make for a chaotic low point in The Real 7. Danny's conservative parents and his boyfriend, Paul, visit at the same time.

Julie makes new friends and one foe outside the house: an attractive young waiter, a sensitive singer/songwriter, and a pugilistic girl named Squirrel. Kelley and Jamie get issues with each other out in the open.

Julie hosts her religious family and takes a turn producing The Real 7. A member of Julie's brother's band offends Danny with his attitude toward homosexuality.

A family visit concludes with an explosive argument between Julie and her father. Kelley weighs an offer to remain in New Orleans with Peter.

Jamie explores his spiritual side and grows closer to Julie. Melissa takes up painting under the tutelage of a local artist.

David's daring concept for the latest episode of The Real 7 involves local exotic dancers modeling swimsuits. Julie plays a prank on Matt.

Julie is bothered by Matt's treatment of her latest guest. The other housemates make a resolution to confront David, who burns his strongest bridge by snubbing Matt.

David shows a more vulnerable side. Matt and Julie discuss her letter to him. Kelley hopes to end on a better note with Melissa. David takes Julie to the studio. Elton reacts to the final episode of The Real 7.

Julie, facing an uncertain future at her university, writes a song for Danny and Paul. Melissa exhibits her paintings. The housemates say their goodbyes.
