Sam Neill follows in the wake of Captain James Cook's exploration of the Pacific; uncovering stories from both sides of the beach, beginning in Tahiti.

Sam returns home to New Zealand as he continues to trace Captain Cook's initial voyage through the Pacific, learning about the impact that the explorer had on the Maori inhabitants.

Captain Cook opted to take the long way back to Britain to chart the East coast of Australia. Sam Neill retraces Cook's discoveries on the east coast of Australia and explores the country's Aboriginal heritage.

Sam Neill retraces Cook's second voyage around the Pacific as he boarded the Resolution in search of the Great Southern Continent, a mythical land thought to balance the Earth.

Continuing to follow the path of Resolution, Sam Neill looks into Cook's third voyage into the Pacific, via New Zealand and Tonga onto Canada and Alaska to locate the North West Passage.

In the final of this landmark series, Sam Neill follows Captain Cook's journey through the Arctic, before heading South to Hawaii where Cook would ultimately find his demise.
