Lorraine looks for a new place to live now that her Swedish flatmate has moved on. But Charles goes into a sulk, about the distance of the flat and the close proximity of a hunky Aussie.

Lorraine's cousin Sharon turns up, concerned she is pregnant. But Charles finds the family planning leaflet and gets the wrong end of the stick, leaving him equally concerned.

Charles's long-term fiancée Sybilla comes back on the scene, which means he will finally have to bite the bullet and break it off with her to be with Lorraine. But surprisingly, the two women hit it off.

Lorraine and her old man both want a favour from Charles, but will one favour jeopardize the other?

The vicar desperately needs to raise some money for repairs to the church, but Charles's attempts to use his influence to attract well-known faces shows him to have very little influence at all.

It's the fancy dress ball, and Charles goes as Charles II, Lorraine is Gloria Swanson, her dad is a chauffeur, and Freddy is Robin Hood. Charles gets a little too into character with his womanizing, so Lorraine finds her own Charles II.
