While preparing for his cousin's wedding Dick accidentally sits on a needle. Extracted in a vehicle on the way to the marriage site the result leads to Dick subbing for the matron of honor.

Dick is on the 11th floor when he comes upon some burglars. They tie him up before leaving so Dick must use all his skills including acrobatic to get free and call for help.

Worried about ratings and a fight with his wife lead Dick open to any ideas for his show. Bernie suggests that Dick undergo a live sobriety test given to drivers but things don't turn out as expected.

Bernie and Carol Davis are looking to buy a new home and learn the house next to the Prestons is for sale. Dick and Jenny like their friends but don't necessarily want them as neighbors so they try to secretly sabotage the sale.

Dick starts having unexplained migraines and undergoes a series of tests. When everything else is ruled out his doctor begins to suspect that his patient is allergic to show business.

Bernie thinks he has come up with an exciting new game show. But when the film a test episode a number of problems surface.

Mike does so well as a guest chef on the local cooking show that she's given permanent hosting duty. However, her cooking abilities are much more limited than she's led the show runner to believe.

Dick and Jenny start to feel old when they think of their child growing up. The Prestons worry increases when they realize many couples in their age group are divorcing.

Dick is making a breakfast cereal commercial and they are having trouble casting someone to play his child. But when his own daughter Annie auditions her dad doesn't want to be accused of favoritism.

On his way home on Christmas Day, Dick gets caught speeding and doesn't have enough money to get out of jail. When he calls Bernie to bail him out, he too gets a speeding ticket.

Dick is left in charge of the baby while Jenny and Annie are out of town, but then forgets Chrissy at the grocery store.

Dick and Jenny become fast friends with their new neighbors, and Dick even buys stock in their tool company. But when he learns that the company is actually a mafia front, things get a little scary.

Having sent the children away to a safe place, Dick and Jenny try to figure out how to save themselves from the mafia.

Dick's chain-smoking mother finds a pack of Lucas' marijuana cigarettes and mistakes them for her own smokes.

Dick finally gets Jenny away for a long anticipated second honeymoon at a South Seas resort. All his meticulous plans go awry, leaving the vacation very unromantic.

Bernie and Carol are excited when an adoption agency calls about an interview. But Carol takes some pills to help her with anxiety turning the meeting into one where her emotions are over the place. She's afraid she has ruined their chances.

Dick, upset about censorship on his show, goes on a over the top on air tirade.

Professor Shea is a charismatic instructor at the University. Jenny, Carol, and Mike all crush on the dreamy-eyed man with Mike taking the next step by booking the teacher on Dick's show.

Dick's brother Mickey becomes indecisive about his marriage when he learns his fiance is a stripper part time in addition to being a travel agent.
