Shelby investigates a missing woman gambler who's suspected of have fallen victim to foul play in the swamps of Gator World.

Everybody is gathered at the inn, waiting out a hurricane when it's discovered that someone among them is a jewel thief, and later one of the guests disappears when the power goes out.

During a tour of the police department, Shelby explains to a group of children how she helped catch a thief known as the Alley Cat, a criminal who eluded her grandfather four years ago after making off with two large pearls.

Arson fires cover up the disappearance of endangered animals. If Shelby can relieve herself of her duties as "Pearl the Safety Squirrel" long enough to solve the mystery, she may be able to convince Hineline she's ready to be a real investigator.

A outbreak of vandalism in Cocoa Beach leads Detective Hineline to suspect Cindi's cousin, Kieth, of the crimes. Shelby is caught between alliance to Keith as her friend and the fact that all the evidence points to him.

The "Reddy Eddy" chain of convenient stores are being filled with a gas that temporarily knock out the employees. When they wake up nothing is stolen! Is it revenge or just a prank. Shelby has a crush on the son of one of the main suspects.

Noah is kidnapped but Shelby finds out the real target is Leo, a lookalike just returning from out of the country, whose scientist mother is a guest staying at Mike's bed and breakfast, along with three likely suspects.
