Laura is assigned to protect a visiting Cuban delegate who is in New York to usher a new era of relations between Cuba and the US and Jake is working with her. Things seem normal till the Cuban's security chief is killed. So could he have found out about a plot against the man and if so who is behind it.

People from Laura's past turn up and complicate her current life. Laura makes a rare error, leading to an unexpected and powerful unfolding of events.

Taking down an international drug kingpin leads to tragedy; Jake comes to a life-altering decision about his future with Laura.
