Two men are mysteriously killed over a key that lets the user go anywhere with a door. Detective Joe Miller gets the key, and finds himself trying to solve the mystery of the key and other related Objects to get his missing daughter back.

Joe continues his quest to get Anna back, by using the Comb and the Box to identify the Prime Object.

Joe struggles to find the Prime Object and get Anna back.

Wally tells Joe about the motel, and he learns more about the room's mysterious past from an unlikely source. Martin Ruber gains membership in the Order of the Reunification.

In the final, climactic night of The Lost Room, Joe uses all his resources and alliances in his quest to find the Prime Object and save his daughter.

Kreutzfeld, Jennifer, Wally and the Weasel all play a part, one of them ultimately betraying Joe and setting into motion a chain of events that could cataclysmically end the world as we know it.
