Despite Argentina's history of political and economical upheaval, the nation's capital Buenos Aires has remained relatively stable.

Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is a young city undergoing much change and development. The island boasts one of the highest economic growth rates in Asia, but China wants to reclaim Taiwan at some point.

Barcelona is Spain's second-largest city and in the semi-automomous area of Catalonia that has about 6 million people. Barcelona receives 30 million tourists each year and is a victim of its own success. Blessed by a moderate climate, great hotels, beaches and some of the best restaurants anywhere, the government of the city are going to have to come up with solutions to keep control over the tourist numbers.

Once considered the Paris of the Middle East, the ancient city of Beirut has survived brutal civil war and conflicts with Israel among many ongoing problems, and politicians are not doing anything to make the lives of ordinary people any easier.
