A series of mix-ups convinces Riley he is mortally ill.

Riley learns that a cart horse he's fond of is to be "retired"so he purchases it. After he brings it home Peg insists Chester find a different place to keep it but he is at a loss as to what to do with the animal.

Gillis decides to play a joke on his friend Riley, leading Chester to believe Peg is expecting again. Riley is both worried and excited about being a dad again and Peg doesn't understand her husband's kind behavior.

Riley finds a fox wrap on the bus and takes it home to turn it into lost & found. He's forgotten it is Peg's birthday and she excitedly assumes the fur is her gift. Riley can't figure a way out of his predicament.

Riley's jealous nature backfires on him.

Riley assumes an old flame still carries the torch.

Riley thinks a beautiful teacher is in love with him.

Riley throws a surprise party for Babs.

Riley and Gillis set out after their sons, who have gone camping.

Riley is temporarily named foreman at the aircraft plant. Is he up to the job?

Riley buys a ranch in the country, only to find out that it's not what he wants after all. He and Gillis decide to claim the house is haunted so he doesn't have to admit he was wrong. Meanwhile, Peg and Honeybee devise the same plan.

Babs wants to go alone to San Francisco but Riley doesn't like the idea. He suggests Peg act as her chaperone. When Gillis sees the Riley men baching it he spreads the news that Peg left her husband, getting even Chester believing it.

Riley gets Babs a blind date.

Riley and Peg take a vacation without the children.

Riley teaches Junior how to box and ends up in a 6 round match with Junior's teacher.

To improve the household budget, Riley gets a second job as a department store window model.

Riley sees green when he finds a love letter to Peg signed "Sam."

Junior has two dates for his first dance.

Riley thinks he has discovered uranium on Gillis's property.

Chester, in a burst of generosity, donates his family's beds to a charity mission. His plan to replace the furniture falls through and Riley has trouble explaining what happened to Peg and the kids.

Two men steal a car and sell it to Riley.

Riley is a bundle of nerves, after he promises his boss, Mr. Cunningham, that he'll get a football player to escort his big homely niece to the school dance.

The Rileys rent their attic to a policeman.

Riley searches for Junior, who he thinks joined the circus.

Riley decides to become an insurance salesman.

Lawsuits fly when Waldo sprains his thumb on Gillis's lawn mower.

Riley buys Babs a beautiful dress for a costume ball.

Riley tries painting his way to fame in the plant's art contest.
