Oliver Bell comes to town and decides Indian River may be a great place to build a hunting lodge. Chub knows the man and understands Bell's past may put the whole project at risk.

A chance discovery of gold in the valley, leads to a land rush brought on by unscrupulous real estate agents. It is up to the kids to uncover the truth about the gold find, and help find justice for all.

Things become tense when a oil drilling team arrives in the area and starts restricting access to various part of the river. After a series of confrontations the situation becomes explosive.

After a light plane crashes in Hoot Owl lake. Despite the pilot being saved people begin reporting a ghost in a canoe out on the lake. As investigations continue into both incidents the mystery seems to just deepen.

Everyone is on high alert as the summer drags on and the fire index continues to climb. Then out of nowhere a circus clown wanders into town claiming to be a rain maker.

Ms. Aggie Apple, a sea-faring widow, moves to town and opens a new marina on the pond on a bend in the river; although the town's real estate agent Fred Stark has other ideas for the property on which the marina sits. The kids love her and help her to outsmart Fred so she can carry on her plans.

A strange girl, Emesinah Wabigan, wanders into the town tired and frightened. She tells a story of an evil spirit, the Windego, having taken her father and wanting to take her as well. The junior rangers have to sort the situation out before the child scares herself to death.

Mr Flannagan returns from a trip and asks Kathy and the other children to care for a small kitten he has bought for his daughter's birthday. The kids take the instructions to heart and refuse to let anyone in the town to know what the gift is.

The kids find a strange man floating in a canoe on the river. He seems to be ill and slightly aggressive. As he is questioned he seems to be suffering from amnesia and has no idea who he is.

Batty McGuire is a boy on the outs with the other children at the camp. His destructive behavior leads to damage around the fort and Chub being injured. Most of the kids want exact revenge, but Chub wonders if there is more to the issue.

Uncle Raoul is thrown a surprise birthday party but an escaped convict throws a monkey wrench into the festivities.

Chub while painting Mrs Apple's store encounters a runaway from reform school. The boy is clearly on the run and dangerous and Chub needs to use all his skills to stop the kid from doing something stupid.

Kathy grieving at the recent loss of her horse due to a broken leg encounters a Leprechaun in the forest. No one believes her story until a local Irish family realize who she was really speaking too, and act accordingly.

Two of the boys decide to camp on Haunted Island. A series of strange events on the island lead to the boys to try and uncover the mystery about the place. What they discover stuns everyone.

Timmy disappears while on a camping trip. The only possible witness is a known poacher who really wants to avoid any involvement with the police.

A rodeo star struts his horse skills on a boy's horse and then plans to have the horse killed because he doesn't like it's style.

WWI flying ace Charlie Appleby scares the residents of Indian River by flying low over the town. Later Shingwauk sees a plane go down in the bush and Ranger Keeley (Graydon Gould) thinks it may be the old pilot. It turns out to be a kidnapper holding an Italian diplomat's son named Manuel Marino. He is rescued by the kids with the old pilot's help. Sergeant Scott (Gordon Pinsent) gives Charlie a lecture about his low-flying, but that doesn't stop him - he soon flies only 20 feet above downtown Indian River.

Charlie Appleby has to get new parts for his plane.

Uncle Raoul's wild, but tame, moose - who he calls Angelique, is nearly killed by a hunter trespassing on his property.

A moose named "King" returns to town to thwart some poachers.

A prize fighter agrees to fight a trained boxing bear at the fort.

A boy learns the value of friendship after he goes wild with his gun.

A escaped convict hides in the forest for many years until he is recaptured and subsequently proven innocent of a crime with the help of the Junior Rangers.

Joe has to run fearsome Lynx Paw Rapids to clear the name of his Ojibway friend accused of murder. He makes it through by the skin of his teeth, then his canoe flips and he is forced to swim in the icy autumn waters.

Biographer Wellington Harleybone re-enacts the lives of his characters. His present subject is a colorful explorer, Francois Beauchamp, who spent many of his days in the Indian River Area.

Two hunters try to hunt a bear with illegal traps.

Aggie and Macleod have a skeet shooting contest.

The kids are cold and stop for the night in an old log house. It turns out that this house is inhabited by some unknown spirit whose face Kathy sees in the fireplace. The face turns out to be a criminal peering through a trap door who has returned to this cabin to recover a large sum of stolen loot.

Kathy rides with a stranger who takes her to a jewel thief who wants her dead.

Winter hunters go on a rampage and Brannigan is shot.

Macleod brags about some gold he has and two thugs take him to his shack and force him to dig it up.
