Dr Tom continues to be frustrated about having to continue to prove himself to the locals. Baxter campaigns to get to fired after he is embarrassed by him in front of his employees. Dr Harry hides his deteriorating health.

Dr Harry holds a town meeting to convince the locals of Dr Tom's worthiness, but Tom thinks Harry has turned against him and resigns. Tom leaves for Sydney and Harry gives chase to persuade him to return.
