Prague - Podolí, the October of 1918 and Terron, France, one of the last battlefields of the World War I. Vladimír, the main character of the series, connects both so distant places.

The postwar poverty, but little Eliska discovers a treasure. Old love tension vibrates between Klára, Jaroslav and Vladimír.

The Valentas are not successful in getting used to living in Podolí. The locals are haunted by their dark family history.

The flu has killed more people than the whole World War I. Even Valentas are in immediate danger.

There's a busy communication going on between heaven and earth in Eliska's children's world. Jaroslav is cooking up plans: the beauty of sugar miller's daughter Magdaléna Skvorová hasn't been lost on him.
