Noe meets Vanitas for the first time on an airship to Paris, as he deals with a vampire consumed by bloodlust.

While meeting with Paris's vampire leader Lord Ruthven, Noe and Vanitas are attacked by another vampire, and Ruthven's nephew Luca and his beautiful chevalier Jeanne.

Vanitas and Noe make investigations into the vampire attacks, but the arrival of Noe's fiancée Dominique complicates things.

Vanitas and Noe attend a masquerade party exclusively for vampires, which gets out of hand.

In the midst of a deadly battle, Noe remembers his tragic childhood.

A suspicious vampire tracks Vanitas and Noe.

Jeanne confronts Vanitas about his declaration of love for her.

Vanitas and Noé arrive at Gévaudan, and fight the Beast of Gévaudan, With the help Of Jeanne, who plans to kill it instead of Saving it, unlike Vanitas.

Vanitas gets wounded in battle by a poisonous blade, inflicted by Astolfo, one of the Chasseurs' Paladins. Jeanne finds Vanitas and takes him to a shed to warm him up and take care of him, Hoping for him to Recuperate.

Noé had already been Captured by The Witch Of The Silver Forest, Chloé. Noé confronts Naenia in the Witch's Castle while Vanitas and the others go out to find him.

Jean-Jaques forces Noé to drink his Blood, leading Noé to see all of his memories, Revealing the Beast of Gévaudan's True Identity. After breaking out of his memories, he goes to meet up With Vanitas.

Chloé manages to bring Naenia into her true form, and gets corrupted instead. Noé, Vanitas and the others try to understand and fix the situation, fighting for their lives.

Vanitas Promises Jeanne to save Chloé, and manages to get a hold of the situation by trying to preform an Inverse Operation on Chloé with the help of Noé and Jean-Jaques.

Vanitas finally manages to save Chloé with the Help of Jeanne and Jean-Jaques, Although his actions will have a lot of Consequences.

Noé returns to Paris with Vanitas, who seems to be suffering from a debilitating ailment since Jeanne bit him, and he cannot get her out of his mind. Later, Vanitas encounters Roland and Olivier in the street and after he describes his condition, they proclaim that he is in love, much to his astonishment and horror. Meanwhile, Jeanne confides in Luca how she feels about Vanitas and he explains to her surprise that she has fallen for him.

Dominique is taken hostage by Vanitas' adoptive brother, Mikhail, who sends a letter to Noé with a lock of her hair. Noé meets Mikhail in an amusement park and after threatening to harm Domi, he forces Noé to drink his blood to reveal his memories. Noé then sees how he was taken in by the Chasseurs after his prostitute mother was killed by a vampire, but he was then taken by Doctor Moreau as a test subject which is where he first met Vanitas.

The two children are victims of Dr. Moreau's works until they are saved by the true Vanitas. He takes the two children and starts taking care of them. The fake Vanitas confesses through his nightmare his mother's death through his birth and how his father died after a vampire attack. Vanitas later makes Mikhail a vampire due to his desire to live longer as Moreau's work weakened his body but the other Vanitas refuses and remains as a human. The flashback ends and Mikhail meets his adoptive brother again.

Vanitas challenges Mikhail to recall the events when Vanitas killed Luna, the Vampire of the Blue Moon. Mikhail confesses that he remembers little of that time, except that when he was saved from death, his savior said there was a way to bring Father back to life. Vanitas tries to shoot Mikhail with Dante's gun but Noé intercedes, fearing for Dominique's life and demanding to know about Vanitas' past. Vanitas has the defenseless Noé at his mercy, but he cannot bring himself to plunge the knife. Mikhail angrily unleashes the full power of his grimoire and calls on vampires to destroy everyone, but he cannot control its power. Dominique protects everyone with her control over ice, but when Mikhail lashes out at Vanitas, Noé severely wounds his face. The teacher then appears in the form of a young man, admitting that he was the one who saved Mikhail. He now goes by the name of Count of St Germain and leaves with Mikhail. The next day, Mikhail returns to find Vanitas ...
