Steve's fiancee Eliza Stewart watches as his killer is acquitted by a local jury, but the circuit judge is disgusted by the verdict and makes his feelings known. Dawson gets his just deserts when he is later killed in a poker dispute but, encouraged by the judge, Eliza determines to further the cause of justice in her own way.
