A mysterious woman has been infecting men with the zombie virus by sleeping with them and leaving them the message "Welcome to Z". Tachibana reconnects with her best friend from childhood who is trying to make it as a model. Shinsuke encounters a "running zombie".

Tachibana disappears after leaving a message for her colleagues in the office. The reclusive Tanokura goes out on his first field mission to catch a zombie and finds that he enjoys the attention. A zombie with never-before-seen "super strength" appears while the "super-speed" zombie continues to terrorize the city. Dr. Koda confronts Machiruda with evidence confirming the new strain of the zombie virus and evidence that zombies are evolving to survive. Naohiro's condition worsens.

Koda-sensei and Satsukawa make a medical breakthrough. Naohiro develops a shocking new skill. New evidence shows that Ohmori and Machiruda are plotting something in secret. With zombie sightings on the rise, Shinsuke and Okawa are busier than ever, prompting Shinsuke to beg Tachibana to return. The office is called to put a stop to "Bolt"'s reign of terror in the city.

Shinsuke and his co-workers visit Tachibana in the hospital after she is attacked. Shinsuke is called before a review panel to investigate the Dr, Koda and Sasakawa continue to work frantically to find a cure. Commissioner Machiruda is forced to reveal why zombies infected with the new strain haven't been made available to test for a vaccine. The series concludes.
