Martin quits Lone Sharks who are shown performing Crocodile Shoes and moves into a warehouse with Darrell who is an amateur music photographer.

Darrell shoots a music video and tries to talk Carol and Martin into forming a band to make some money while at the same time trying to buy time paying the rent to Nick.

The band go to a record executives' party. Nick gives Darrell a one-month deadline to come up with the rent money.

Darrell prepares for his 21st and talks the band into making their debut at the party. With help from her father, Christine starts practicing the saxophone again and joins the band.

After their first gig the band goes to the beach, dancing to Singing In The Shower.

Martin's mystery woman turns out to be his mother who wants to stay in touch. Darrell and George try to come up with an idea for how to sell the dolls.

Darrell books the band's first proper gig playing at a pub. The demand for Carol's fashions outweighs her manufacturing capacity.

Garry prepares the band for their first gig; Martin is forced to take a cleaning job; The band acquires a drummer and a roadie.

Johnny is invited to join the band as drummer. Shrug informs Christine he's quitting music to go into marketing. Martin quits his cleaning job.

Darrell shops the band's demo tape for No Focus to various radio stations only to be accused of stealing the song from the band Dead Lions whose song Psychosis sounds remarkably similar.

While out on a date with Carol, Leo offers to help her promote her songs in LA. Darrell gets a lesson in management while negotiating the band's contract.

After being set up to fail in their support gig for Dead Lions, Darrell tries, and fails, to get the band out of their contract. Leo invites Carrol to join him when his band goes to America.

Martin grows bored of the band's routine, playing the same songs to the same crowd in the same pub, and meets Charlie, an attractive musician who introduces him to her digital synthesizer.

Darrell discovers The Hoons, a garage band composed of a trio of underage delinquents whose success he hopes will be good for The Takeaways. Carol's feels under pressure for single-handedly looking after the band.

Plans don't meet expectations. Darrell is persuaded to drop the Hoons and leaves the band to concentrate on videos. Martin finds he can't connect with Charlie's music and Shrug quits his record selling job that girlfriend Kerry had set up.

The band hit the recording studio to lay down Sweet And Sour. After Martin finally decides to show up, George admits his playing isn't good enough and quits the band.

The band's first record, Sweet And Sour, gets pressed and the band try to get it into the shops. A magazine interview doesn't go to plan but the gigs get better under George's management.

Carrol is becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the growing focus on her as the face of the band.

Martin tires of Carrol getting the lion's share of the media attention and, anticipating her departure from the band, looks to get his solo act going by taking Darrel up on his offer to film a clip for his country act.

The Takeaways perform their final show. Shrug and Kerry get engaged. Rumours of Carrol's new band and Martin's impending solo career as a country artist sparks media interest.
