Ryota Moriyama, a senior at Kyoritsu University, learns he cannot graduate because he is failing one of his classes. His professor offers to allow him to pass the class under one condition: he must join the university's sumo club.

Ryota needs to recruit more members of the sumo team so they can compete in an upcoming competition.

Tomio Aoki, a former member of the Kyoritsu sumo team and famous author, returns to visit the school.

The Kyoritsu men's team competes in their first sumo competition.

Ryota quits the sumo club. Honoka competes in the women's tournament and introduces a new classmate to sumo.

The Kyoritsu sumo club joins the Hokuto Gakuin team for a summer training camp.

Honoka goes on a date with her childhood friend, Kaito, on the team's day off. Ryota is asked to tag along by Mayu.

The Kyoritsu team returns from summer training and prepares for the fall tournaments. The women's tournament is first, and the men's team pick up a last minute recruit.

The Kyoritsu men's team picks up the pace on their training as they enter the men's tournament, and Honoka grows in her role as team captain.

The Kyoritsu men must defeat their rivals at Hokuto in order to win a chance for Honoka to compete in the first ever co-ed tournament.
