In the opening Launch Show of season 9, the 14 new celebrities are introduced to their professional partners for the first time. There is music from Dolly Parton plus three pro dances and a full group dance.

In the first live show of the new season, 7 of the 14 new celebrities (Holly, Dan, Lulu, Audley, Robbie, Anita and Russell) dance either a Waltz of Cha-Cha-Cha with their professional partners. No-one will leave the show this first week, and judges scores will be carried forward to week 2.

In the second live show the remaining 7 celebrities (Harry, Rory, Alex, Chelsee, Edwina, Nancy and Jason) dance either a Waltz or Cha-Cha-Cha. At the end of week 1, Jason and Kristina are top of the judges leader board with 32 points, while Nancy and Anton are bottom with just 12 judges points.

For the first time this season all 14 couples perform against each other, dancing either a Foxtrot or a Salsa. With last weeks judges points being carried on to this week, Jason and Kristina find themselves at the top of the leader-board with a score of 65 (32 and 33), with Nancy and Anton at the bottom with just 26 judges points (12 and 14).

In the first results show of the new season there is a pro group dance and music from special guest Will Young. After the public vote is taken into account, Audley and Natalie, and Edwina and Vincent find themselves in the bottom two with Edwina and Vincent being the first to leave the competition.

The remaining contestants perform a total of 7 different dance styles, all based on Broadway shows. After the judges scores, Jason and Kristina find themselves top of the leader-board for the 3rd week in a row with a score of 36, with Nancy and Anton bottom with 20 judges points. There is also a pro group dance.

In the Broadway week results show there is a special pro dance, guests Julianne Hough and Kenny Wormald perform a dance to the music of Footloose, and there is music from singer Susan Boyle. When all votes are taken into account, Dan and Katja, and Nancy and Anton find themselves in the bottom two, with Dan and Katja leaving the competition.

Nancy and Anton find themselves bottom of the judges leader board yet again with a score of 18, with Chelsee and Pasha top for the first time with a score of 36. Harry and Aliona receive the first '10' of the season for their Waltz (from Alesha).

There is a pro-dance, music from special guest Caro Emerald, plus Vincent and Flavia perform an Argentine Tango. When the public vote is added to the judges scores, Rory and Erin, and Nancy and Anton are in the bottom two, with Rory and Erin leaving the competition.

The remaining 11 couples perform a spooky Halloween-horror-vampire themed dance. Jason and Kristina return to the top of the judges leader-board when their 'Bewitched' Quickstep gets a score of 37, the highest of the season so far. Nancy and Anton are again bottom with a score of just 14 for their coffin based Rumba. Both Harry and Aliona's 'Psycho-killer' Tango and Jason and Kristina receive a maximum '10' from Alesha.

There are two special, spooky pro dances, plus music from special guests The Wanted. Audley and Natalie, and Nancy and Anton find themselves in the bottom two, with Nancy and Anton leaving the show after 3 weeks in the bottom two.

With head judge Len taking a week off, the remaining 10 contestants dance for the remaining judges plus special guest judge Jennifer Grey, dances that include for the first time this season, the Charleston. Chelsee and Pasha come top of the leader-board with a judges score of 36 for their Charleston, with Russell and Flavia bottom with just 24 judges points for their Paso Doble.

There are two pro group dances - one by the girls, and one the boys, plus a song and dance from Bruce Forsyth, and music from guests Westlife who sing Flying Without Wings. Audley and Natalie and Lulu and Brendan find themselves in the bottom two, with Lulu and Brendan being voted out of the competition.

The remaining 9 couples dance to stay in the competition and reach next week's Wembley special. Due to Artem injuring his back just before last week's main show, Holly dances with Brendon this week. Audley and Natalie find themselves bottom of the judges leader-board with a score of just 20 for their Cha-Cha-Cha, with Harry and Aliona at the top with a score of 37 points for their Argentine Tango (including for the first time this season, two perfect '10s').

There is a group dance plus music from guests 'Christina Perri' (who sings Jar of Hearts), and André Rieu. When the viewers votes and judges scores are added together, Audley and Natalie, and Anita and Robin find themselves in the bottom two, with Audley and Natalie leaving the competition and just missing out on a trip to Wembley.

The remaining 8 couples then dance to stay in the competition, with Alex and James finding themselves at the top of the judges leader-board for the first time with a score of 35 for their Tango, jointly positioned with Chelsee and Pasha. Russell and Flavia are bottom with just 24 judges points.

The Wembley based results show starts with a Beatles themed group dance. There is also music from special guests Il Divo and a duet from 'James Morrison (VIII)' and Jessie J. Russell and Flavia and for the first time, Holly and Artem find themselves in the bottom two, with Russell and Flavia leaving the competition.

The remaining couples perform twice, including a 'Swingathon', to impress the judges. Anita is this week dancing with Brendon, as her partner Robin has a serious foot infection. Harry and Aliona come top after their first dance when their Quickstep receives '39' from the judges, the best score of the season so far. They also win the Swingathon resulting in a total score of 46. Robbie and Ola find themselves bottom of the judges leader-board with a score of 26 for their two dances.

In the Movie themed Quarter Final there is a group pro dance and the remaining 6 couples each perform a movie themed dance. In a show full of '10's', Chelsee and Pasha are top of the judges leader-board with a score of 39 for their Shrek based Jive, with Holly and Artem 2nd with 38 for their Zorro based Paso Doble. Robbie and Ola find themselves bottom with 30 for their Reservoir Dogs themed Quickstep.

To get through to the Final, the five remaining couples must perform two full dances. When both sets of judges scores are added together, Harry and Aliona are top of the leader-board with a score of 78 (39 for both their Charleston and Viennese Waltz), with Alex and James bottom with 65 (34 for their Waltz and 31 for their Salsa). Chelsee and Pasha receive the season's first perfect 40 for their Paso Doble, quickly followed by Jason and Kristina who receive a 40 for their Argentine Tango.

In the Semi-Final results show, there is a pro dance, plus music from Gareth Malone and The Military Wives, plus Aloe Blacc. In a double elimination, Alex and James, and Holly and Artem find themselves at the bottom and leave the competition just short of the Grand Final.

In the first part of the Grand Final 2011, the remaining 3 couples perform two dances, including their Show Dance. Harry and Aliona receive their first perfect judges score of the season with a score of '40' for their Quickstep, while their Show Dance gets 37 putting them second on the judges leader-board with a score of 77. Jason and Kristina receive '40' for their Show Dance, and find themselves top of the judges leader-board with a score for both dances of 78. The Grand Final, live from the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, continues with the first elimination: Jason and Kristina. The two remaining couples then perform two more dances each, one they haven't danced before and their favorite of the season, to take the glitter-ball. Harry and Aliona receive 39 for their new dance, an American Smooth, and a perfect 40 for their favorite, the Argentine Tango. Chelsee and pasha receive 39 for their new dance, a Rumba, and 39 for their favorite, the Quickstep. There is also music from special guest Jessie J, plus a pro-celebrity group dance. ...

In the 2011 Christmas special, 5 all new contestants compete for the Christmas Glitterball. Debra Stephenson is partnered with Ian Waite, Simon Webbe with Katya Virshilas, Charlie Brooks with Vincent Simone, Barry McGuigan with Erin Boag and Su Pollard with Anton du Beke. There is music from Shakin' Stevens and the cream of the main 2011 contestants take to the floor once more. Once audience votes and the judges scores are added together, Charlie and Vincent win the Glitterball for their Jive.
