When a multinational corporation employee is murdered just before being charged for embezzlement, Policeman Richard Brock must use all his skills as a police psychologist to solve the case.

Sebastian Ulmer is desperate. He flees through the center of Vienna, the police hot on his heels. He takes hostages in a bookshop. Among them is Richard Brock, the police psychologist and interrogation specialist. Brock tries to persuade Sebastian to surrender. But Sebastian shoots himself in front of him when he realizes the hopelessness of his situation. Richard Brock is deeply affected. Driven by feelings of guilt, he wants to find the cause of the tragedy. He finds out that someone must have tried to discredit Sebastian Ulmer. Criminally incriminating material was...

The kidnapping of a little girl will take the criminal psychologist Richard Brock to collaborate with the local police to find the victim.

A brutal murder is committed in Brock's apartment building. Brock's secret lover Paula is the only witness to the crime. A certain Dr. Pliem, with his knowledge of the affair, coerces Brock into giving him therapy. Soon Brock suspects Pliem of having committed the murder. Or is he the victim of a sick game that Pliem is playing with him?

Klaus, a childhood friend of the police psychic Richard Brock, is arrested with a gun right beside the body of his dead girl friend. Still he says he's innocent. Brock throws himself out in the search for the truth.

A woman asks Brock for help, as she suspects that her husband is schizophrenic. Brock confirms this. But then the man disappears from his client and mysterious things happen.

Brock is drawn into a police intrigue network and gets into the highest danger. He gets help from an unexpected side.

Richard Brock is watching a murder. The alleged victim, however, proves unscathed. Only Brock's colleague Brigitte Klein wants to believe him.
