Cass has been hired to fly the daughter of a wealthy man. Just as they were about to take off, a man with a gun shows up and the man is someone who works for the girl's father. He instructs Cass to call the tower for clearance but Cass calls the office and talks to Stan. Stan gives him the OK which Spencer wonders what's going on. The things Cass said is a code that he and Stan made up. So Stan follows him and waits for his next transmission. While in flight they learn this is all a ransom plot perpetrated by the man and two others who work for the girl's father.

Spencer's plane crashes in a bad storm, leaving it in pieces and he and his three passengers stranded with little water and a broken radio in the hot summer.

Cal Atkins is the inventor of a radio-controlled plane. After demonstrating the effectiveness of his missile, Atkins is assaulted and seriously wounded. Cass and Stan are assigned the mission to evacuate the inventor from the ranch where he finds himself so that he can be treated by brain specialists...
