Alone at the Marina in Los Angeles, Tara, rushes to extract a wounded MI-5 agent who has been trailing a terrorist group of ex-convicts. Tara is met with an explosive surprise -- a detonation device in the middle of the harbor that will kill thousands of people if she doesn't stop it in time.

After the loss of her father, Tara commits to the CIA's experimental procedure, which turns her into a genetically modified agent known as a SHIFTER. Tara must now train with her new abilities and personalities, but they have a mind of their own and Tara finds something disturbing inside of herself.

Tara's personality, Maeve, is posing as an American photographer on vacation in Tbilisi, Georgia when she is kidnapped by Russian agents. Interrogated in the bunker of a Russian Embassy, Maeve is accused of being a spy and must convince everyone that this is a case of mistaken identity so she can escape and complete her mission.

Tara is sent to England to infiltrate a human trafficking operation hiding behind a travel bureau in London. Little does she know that a group of Congolese miners are trying to buy the humans for a covert operation mining a new earth mineral: Coltan. Tara must stop the deal from going down.

Korean-American diplomat, Seojoon Song, clashes with his identity when hearing drone strikes are ordered by the U.S. on his homeland. Song attends a diplomatic event.Tara is sent to guard him, learning the North Koreans plan to kidnap him.

Struggling with addiction to Maeve, Tara is sent to Dublin to prevent a terrorist act in a library near a British Embassy. Tara infiltrates a new IRA terrorist cell in Dublin by posing as one of its members. The group plans on detonating a bomb the next day, and Tara only has one night to discover where.
