Yuji's on his way home from high school when a red-haired girl with fiery eyes and a sword of flame suddenly cuts him down in a battle with demon-like beings that are consuming human lives. This girl tells Yuji he's dead--but how is he still moving?

Yuji demands to know more about his fate. The fiery-eyed warrior callously explains how the world really works on a supernatural level. Naturally, Yuji struggles to keep his friend from fading from existence.

Shana keeps a close eye on Yuji--by replacing his friend in his high school class! Yuji struggles to grasp the situation, but he puts his own existence on the line when an evil little doll returns with her master.

Shana moves into Yuji's bedroom, but she is surprised to find that something about him has a strange effect on her. Later, a voluptuous librarian who's actually a boozing Flame Haze comes to the city and attacks Shana!

While on a date at an art exhibit, Yuji receives a warning from the Corpse Collector. Margery Daw arrives on the scene, but a creepy doll master Denizen takes the liberty to interrupt.

Friagne cooks up a plan to keep the two Flame Hazes occupied while he devours the entire city! When the Denizen sparks up a battle, Shana dawns on a newfound strength from Yuji's presence.

Yuji begins training to help fight the Crimson Denizens, but Shana turns out to be a slave-driver. When Margery Daw tracks down the Corpse Collector, Shana and Yuji must stop her before she destroys the whole city!

Shana fires up in another showdown with Margery Daw. With Yuji there to help keep her flame ablaze, she discovers a new power she'd never used before.

When Yuji's class gets free tickets to the waterpark, a classmate can't resist asking him out with the group. Shana gives the human pastime a try, but she makes a big splash when hidden feelings start to surface!

Shana is as relentless as ever in Yuji's battle training. But when he chooses school responsibilities over a special session they'd planned, she gets burned--and realizes another new emotion while taking on a desperate Rinne without him.

Shana's curiosity leads her to research the concept of a kiss. New Denizens take residence in Yuji's town--and one of the lip-locked twins sniff out Shana's presence.

Kazumi finally makes a stand about her feelings, sending the girl contending for Yuji's attention into a rage. When the creepy twin Denizens put up a seal, Shana takes them on outnumbered.

While Shana's tangled up with the Denizens, Yuji lends Margery Daw a hand to help prune their life-sucking vines.

A look into Shana's past shines a light on her upbringing before she was a full-fledged Flame Haze. In a secret sky-bound palace, her guardians train her with a stern but caring hand in the memory of a legendary hero.

The story of how Shana became a Flame Haze continues. When a Denizen locates their hidden home, Shana completes her contract with the Flame of Heaven in order to face the most dreaded warrior of the Crimson World.

Now an official Flame Haze, Shana fights for her life to retrieve the sword meant for her title. Her intense training pays off, but her hardest lessons are far from over.

The Misago festival is tomorrow, and both Kazumi and Shana are inspired to try something new to catch Yuji's attention. Then, a Flame Haze picks Kazumi for a mission.

Emotions flare and tensions rise at the Misago festival. The Bal Masque makes their move just as Kazumi uses the Flame Haze's treasure on Yuji--and Shana gets heated when she misreads a tender moment.

The three Flame Hazes team up to take down a manic Crimson Denizen known as the Professor before he tears a hole in space with a rigged airship.

Wirhelmina comes to Misaki City seeking the Midnight Lost Child. She warns Shana that the Bal Masque wants the Mystes for themselves. When Wirhelmina notices a change in Shana, the cold guardian insists that the Mystes be destroyed.

Shana struggles with her duty as a Flame Haze and her feelings for Yuji, but manages to convince Wirhelmina to spare his life--for now. When the Bal Masque charges up for their next move, Shana risks her life to keep Yuji alive.

Everything is going according to the Bal Masque's plan. Shana must decide for herself whether to somehow save Yuji or assist Wirhelmina to destroy the Mystes and lose him forever.

Shana and Wirhelmina charge the Bal Masque's floating palace. A spell inside drains their power, forcing them to fight countless Rinne robots barehanded. While Yuji's memories continue to flow into Hecate, a sudden spark of realization hits him.

Shana faces the Master of Thrones, who begins to destroy the city in her rage of defeat. Alistor and Shana must sacrifice themselves in order to stop her. Come what may, Yuji accepts his fate by Shana's side.
