Chaegyeong decides to prove herself worthy of marrying Prince Jinseong, who is just as determined to get out of the arrangement.

Prince Jinseong tries to get Seonoh's father a fair trial when he is arrested. Chaegyeong's parents worry about the marriage fulfilling the prophecy.

With Prince Jinseong arrested, Chaegyeong and her family are also in danger.

Five years later, King Yeonsan and Chaegyeong reconnect. Prince Jinseong promises to take revenge on his brother and steal his throne.

King Yeonsan continues his flood relief efforts. Prince Jinseong tries to push Chaegyeong away and makes rash decisions.

Chaegyeong is imprisoned to draw Prince Jinseong out, but insists that she will take the punishment alone rather than put him in danger.

Chaegyeong still refuses to ask for help. King Yeonsan takes matters into his own hands when his ministers block his efforts at action.

Now that Prince Jinseong has returned, he and King Yeonsan immediately begin to plan their next moves while keeping up facades.

King Yeonsan investigates the Snail Wives and recruits Chaegyeong to spy on his brother.

Chaegyeong and Prince Jinseong's marriage is off to a bumpy start. Seonoh's father is captured.

After discovering the truth, Chaegyeong tries again to broker peace between the two brothers.

Chaegyeong finds she can no longer trust her husband. Prince Jinseong is advised to disband the Snail Wives.

Prince Jinseong and Chaegyeong hope to be able to leave the city, but King Yeonsan has other plans.

King Yeonsan orders citizens to be executed to lure out the Snail Wives, spurring Seonoh into action.

Chaegyeong strikes a desperate deal as King Yeonsan's paranoia and rage continue to increase.

The rebellion begins, with Prince Jinseong willing to die to ensure his brother's reign will end.

Jinseong and Chaegyeong uneasily settle into their new roles as they deal with dissenters.

Jinseong searches desperately for a way to save Chaegyeong, who remains determined to sacrifice herself for his sake.
