Thomas Waterson hires Sable to kill him. When he reveals that he is being blackmailed, Sable takes the case to save Waterson's granddaughter,

Sable is being stalked by the son of one of the men he killed.

Sable answers an ad but discovers his client is already dead and a scared little girl is hiding in her apartment. His investigation puts him at odds with a baby selling ring.

Sable is taunted by a serial killer who dares Sable to prevent him from claiming his next victim. Meanwhile, Eden is pursued by a new writer who hopes to take Nicholas Fleming's place in her life.

Sable pursues a hit-man who is pretending to be him. Eden tries to help a runaway get her life on track.

Cheesecake runs afoul of a group of neighborhood vigilantes. Meanwhile Sable is trying to make amends with his estranged step-mother.

Sable takes on the case of an old friend, a professional thief, who is being hunted by a mobster.
