Doreen is showing new barmaid Sam the ropes while gossiping about the team captain and trying to raffle off a platter of meat that is of questionable quality. Pete gets locked in the loo with little hope of release.

Pete finds himself in an awkward situation when he blames the goalkeeper for the club's latest defeat. Tom's new trousers cause amusement and Sam tries to cover up her own clumsiness.

At a fund-raising night at the club Pete attempts to beat the world record for eating fish fingers. The pressure mounts when his idol, club legend (and Doreen's love interest), Roger Small arrives.

The Rovers fans gather in the club to watch England's International match against FYR Macedonia. Tom has penned a poem for Sam and Pete gets emotional during a radio phone-in.

Things don't go to plan when Pete takes his young son, Stanley, to his first Rovers game. Tom makes an announcement that upsets Sam while Pete and Mel come to blows.

The regulars have a big surprise in store for Doreen, as she celebrates 25 years service behind the bar at the social club. Meanwhile, Mandy issues Willy with an ultimatum.
