Young race car driver Hideki Go dies saving a child and dog during a giant monster attack, a returning Ultraman impressed by this bravery merges with him to become the new Ultraman.

Due to his overconfidence, stemming from being the new Ultraman, Hideki Go disobeys orders that result in his partner being injured and the monster getting away.

Hideki Go claims to have seen and heard a monster atop Mt. Kirifuki but his teammates think he's been imagining things.

Ultraman fails in combat against Ancient Monster Kingsaurus III, an injured Go Hideki must train to be ready for a rematch.

Once again Go Hideki is at odds with his fellow teammates and with two monsters threatening Tokyo the danger is doubled.
