Mann's investigation of a soldier going AWOL uncovers a sexual attack on an officer's wife, and that officer's inexplicable reluctance to do anything about it.

In West Berlin, a British solder has injured a call girl, and rather than face charges, defects to the East Germans. To spare the soldier's wife, Mann goes "Over The Wall" too in an attempt to bring him back.

In Aden, a tough sergeant badly beats a native boy, enough to hospitalize him. Mann is sent to look into it, but midway through the investigation, the sergeant meets with a deadly accident.

Sgt. Mann's suspicions are aroused when a soldier confesses to a crime he obviously didn't commit. Mann's determination to prove the man's innocence unearths an unusual love interest.

Detailed to investigate a charge that a soldier in Cyprus is guilty black-market activities - and suspected murder - Sgt Mann finds that he needs his wits about him to track down a determined criminal.
