T.J. gets detention during recess. His friends must enlist the help of the rest of the playground to rescue him.

A new kid comes to 3rd Street School. He, as all new kids are, is only referred to as "New Kid". Can he get his name back?

Parents Night comes to Third Street School and all the kids are excited...except Spinelli. When she says her parents can't come, the gang realizes that none of them has ever seen Mr. or Mrs. Spinelli.

After believing to see her swinging over the top of the swing-set, Spinelli starts a cult devoted to Swinger Girl.

The title becomes an embarrassing revelation about Spinelli.

Miss Finster is attracted to Hank the Janitor; she and Hank begin dating. The student body is concerned when she begins being nice to everyone

Gus is appointed the new temporary king when King Bob has to leave for a week to have his tonsils taken out.

Vince's big brother Chad is coming to pick him up after school. All the other kids reminisce about how cool he was. But how cool is he, really?

Gretchen has been selected for placement in a school for the gifted, and her friends try to change her, hoping the school will turn her down.

A beloved hamster in Miss Grotke's class dies, leading generations of students and somehow former students to 3rd Street School to mourn his passing.

When Vince looses his self confidence in playing kick-ball, it's up to TJ and friends to get him back on track.

When a series of bad luck fall upon the 3rd street elementary, TJ and friends try to get rid of the mysterious kindergartener who just might be behind all this.

A boy named Jeffery admits to harboring an enormous crush on Gretchen, and insists that she should be his girlfriend.

When TJ accidentally gets caught by the kindergärtners, he starts to become one of them. It's up to his friends to get him back to the world of the big kids.

Finster creates 'the box' as a new punishment for kids and puts T.J. in it to try out its effects.

Spinelli is put on trial for hitting Randall with a rock during a dirt clod war; and though she proclaims her innocence, she refuses to take the stand in her defense.

Students start speculating what is in teachers lounge. They come to know that teachers lounge is a totally different world where every teacher has his hobbies and passions.

After one snitch too many Randall grows tired of being Finster's lap dog. He then seeks the friendship of the gang who is not so eager to accept him. For their friendship he gives the kids of the playground the use of the secret ball stash.

The gang is stuck inside for days on end, on account of the rain and begin to lose it. Luckily TJ comes up with a plan.

The holiday can drive starts up once again, only this time, while Mikey is only doing this to help out the less-fortunate, the rest of the gang is sure to beat The Ashleys.

The kids organize a protest when Principal Prickley arranges for the jungle gym, Old Rusty, to be torn down.

The Ashleys team up to jinx Gus and the squad must race against the adults to say his name and free him.

T.J. and his friends hear of a bleak near future where boys and girls like to kiss, and conduct an experiment to determine if there's any truth to it.

Mikey dreams of joining the school's safety officers so the squad assists him in learning the handbook to achieve it.

When Principal Prickly discovers that Mikey can sing exactly like the real Robert Goulet he hires a beautiful, young music teacher named, Miss Salamone, to nurture his talent and to help him prepare for the school concert.

A child psychologist gets the Recess gang to help her film a documentary about life on the playground, then they find out her video has been edited to get recess banned.
