The kids celebrate the 1st anniversary of The Herbertville Chronicle and test out a "two-way" communication device.

Lynne begins to investigate an old chart that her friends sent her as Chris and Sam gradually come to the realization that they've time warped into the middle of a war.

At Fort George during the War of 1812, Chris and Sam are able to convince General Brock that they're from the future, so he grants them an interview and points them in the right direction to find the mysterious vanishing boy.

On their way to Queenston, Sam and Chris are guided by historical figures John Norton and Laura Secord -- and they lose their letter from General Brock. Meanwhile Lynne discovers her friends are about to walk into a battle.

Chris and Sam finally find Alex and enlist Lynne to help them escape back to the future.

Lynne and Alex get distracted from their work on the latest edition of the newspaper when they hear Cinderella crying from within her storybook, fearing that she'll be erased by The Book Destroyer.

Soon after arriving in Book World, Lynne and Alex are captured by Snow White's wicked stepmother, but they manage to weasel their way free by requesting an interview.

Lynne and Alex encounter Count Dracula and Rip Van Winkle on their quest to find the Book Destroyer.

Lynne and Alex make their way to the lair of Harriet Hill, The Book Destroyer, who plots to make them her accomplices. Meanwhile, Sam learns that her family is moving away from Herbertville.

Chris and Alex try to keep Sam's mind occupied with composing a home rental ad for the newspaper so she won't wallow in misery over her upcoming move to Victoria.

Sam bonds with author Rita. Meanwhile, Lynne proposes sending Sam to her new home in Victoria with the two-way communication device, but Otto and Rita discourage instant communication as an unhealthy behavior.

Everyone says their goodbyes to Samantha. Meanwhile, Rita reveals that she's writing a book about Sam, and she later proposes that The Herbertville Chronicle should hold a writing contest.

While doing research on books of poetry, Alex fantasizes that he and his friends are characters in the Old West.

The ghost of Herbertville's first school principal takes an interest in the paper and begins haunting the Coach House, leaving Otto particularly perplexed.

When the ghost of Mr. Wetherby becomes a nuisance, Lynne and Chris try to devise a plan to drive him out of the Coach House without hurting his feelings.

The kids' work on the newspaper is abruptly halted by an urgent message from Trialviron, and they have to discern whether it's from Dr. Couplet or the devious Duneedon.

The kids have to decide whether to help the people of Trialviron or if they're simply playing into one of Duneedon's schemes.

Chris and Alex plead with Emperor Triton to let the people of Trialviron pass through his domain on their way to Zeberon. Meanwhile, Duneedon hatches a nefarious plan to return to Earth.

Dr. Couplet's reluctance to leave Trialviron without her magical word machine puts Chris and Alex in jeopardy.

Lynne, Chris and Alex are bracing themselves for disintegration on Trialviron, but Sam makes a surprise return to Herbertville for Christmas - and just in the nick of time to save the day.
