Dr. Rafferty fends off a millionaire parent, a socialite surgeon, and a malpractice suit as he works to rid a teenager of a near-total paralysis.

A mother of five children disappears, a young girl needs a kidney donor.

Dr. Rafferty deals with a blind woman, an elderly black man who is afraid of loosing his virility, and a female doctor who refuses to report her rape.

Rafferty spots a potential health with a musician issue during a concert, and another with an operating room nurse.

Rafferty plays detective for an pregnant airline stewardess who suspects radiation exposure, and helps a self-pitying comic strip artist who learns to forget his handicap over concern for a deaf orphan.

Rafferty is confronted with a critically-ill girl displaying polio symptoms, but is it actually botulism?

Dr. Rafferty comes across an unfriendly mountain clan, the Danes. It turns out they have an 11 year old boy that they are unable to control so they keep him caged. Rafferty takes measures to free the child.

Rafferty's nurse-friend Vera may be terminally ill, but he refuses to give up hope.

Dr. Rafferty deals with a teenage gymnast who is starving herself to death, a police officer carrying a bullet in his back, and a colleague who may be psychotic.

Dr. Sid Rafferty is determined to prove that a businessman who died in the crash of a private aircraft he was piloting did not commit suicide.
