Carter Fox continues to relive his close encounter from earlier that year. Even though both he and Chrissy Daniels have kept quiet about their experiences, a stranger named A.J. shows up and seems to know more about Carter's past than he is comfortable with.

An awkward encounter in the school library inspires Carter to get out and have some fun with Chrissy. When he continues to hear a paranormal sound, he investigates to find more than he bargained for.

Carter continues to be intrigued by the device he found, Chrissy is visited by an old friend with some interesting news, and a paranormal event in the high school computer lab puts Chrissy face-to-face with...

Carter meets two whiz kids, Mondo and Fizzy, who claim to have built a machine that is able to tap into otherworldly frequencies. The results seem unimpressive at first, until Carter suggests a modification.

A flashback to the summer reveals Carter and Chrissy's investigation of a possible UFO crash site in the Arizona desert. Under the extreme heat, it's difficult to tell the difference between hallucinations and hard evidence.

Carter and Chrissy meet a spiritual mechanic named Manuel, who has his own philosophies about extraterrestrial life. Before the day is over, they find something more dangerous than the desert heat.

Mondo becomes more frustrated by the mystery of the signal, Carter seeks comfort with his teacher being uneasy with his obsessions, and the enigmatic online messenger, RexFactor, emerges once again.

Carter's own struggle to understand his role in this puzzle is cut short by a sudden attack from an old friend...

In this finale episode, the signal has changed aggressively, and a warning from RexFactor says that danger is on the way. Chrissy, Mondo, and Fizzy struggle to find answers, but Carter is nowhere to be found. The clues lead to an abandoned warehouse, and the meaning behind the signal is revealed... something big is coming.
