María "Bonita" Reynoso, a famous singer arrives for the president's birthday. During the celebration, María slaps the president's son, Rodrigo. Meanwhile José Santos kidnaps her father. María finds out what El Diablo is really like. Libia, the president's sister dislikes María.

María finds her father, bitten by a snake. José Santos tries to help. The president makes a confession to Maga and makes inquiries about María. Libia' son, Claudio arrives. María discovers El Diablo' mark on her. Rodrigo falls for María. Barba helps Imelda to meet with Calancho.

Dr. Fernandez examines Vicente. María tries to remove El Diablo' mark. Augusto confronts José Santos. Evita bumps into Imelda and Calancho in a shop. Barba is rewarded. Maga reads José Santos' future. Libia urges Claudio to marry while her husband wants control of Rodrigo' campaign. María rejects the president' gifts, but accepts Rodrigo' flowers.

María takes Vicente and leaves El Diablo' house. Carlos announces his political ambitions. Maga gives advice to her niece. José Santos visits Alargisa. Vicente's health worsens and they return to El Diablo's house. María despises José Santos more and more.

It's the day of Vicente's funeral. María is inconsolable. The president is being criticized over the cost of the funeral. José Santos is very satisfied. Rodrigo pines for María. Libia doesn't approve of the president's crush. Evita and Claudio take a boat ride. Augusto invites María to dinner.

José Santos is healed and María makes a confession. Augusto is displeased with recent events regarding the singer. Carlos confronts his father about his origin. Imelda shares with Calancho the big news. María and Augusto catch up.

José Santos is blamed for the epidemic. Alirio takes María to Maga's club and she observes El Diablo's behavior. Carlos gets an office and a certain case catches his eye. Evita isn't taken seriously by Augusto.
