Whilst visiting Abbott - hospitalised with appendicitis - Bernard makes an unplanned spur-of-the-moment proposal to Penny. She happily accepts, but in his semi-conscious state Abbott believes that she's a nurse and that Sir is holding some kind of orgy; his mother is certainly not amused.

Mr Price gets a week off and the rest of the teachers are not happy about it. Mr Cromwell lies and says he is getting orphans from China so the staff buy him toys. In Prices's absence Mr Hedges tries to teach Chemistry but fails.

Christmas special. Bernard and Penny are getting married today. They predict that everyone will interfere with their plans to stay at the hotel, so they tell everyone they are going to Portugal for their honeymoon. When they sneak back to the hotel, they get a surprise.
