Pattie Jagersma, a young girl from Groningen, wants to be a singer and decides to move to the big city to follow her dream, leaving her father and her best friend behind.

Pattie makes new friends in Den Haag, and they help her find a new place to live and work.

Pattie gets the chance to audition to sing in The Petticoats, but she needs to convince Peter to join her.

Pattie gets an unexpected visit. She has to choose: should she go back home, or will she follow her dreams?

Willem starts to distance himself from Pattie, just when she is getting more successful. Pattie discovers a secret from her past that changes everything.

Pattie and The Petticoats perform on television for the first time. Peter discovers the truth and confronts Pattie and Willem when The Petticoats perform in Winschoten.
