A rich trophy wife gets accused of murder when she tries to leave her powerful controlling husband.

Country Boy White is accused of murdering a man he had an argument with the night of the death. The case turns out to be connected to an old hit-and-run case.

Petrocelli defends a wife accused of killing her husband. She knows she killed him but says she didn't know she was doing it. Petrocelli soon realizes she was mentally ill and has to prove her not guilty by reason of insanity.

After being accused of murderi, suspect Adam North asks the victim's best friend, Petrocelli to defend him.

Petrocelli defends a hippie motorcyclist charged with arson after a hotel goes up in flames. After the biker was denied a room, he was heard threatening the manager with burning down the hotel.

Sam Horton dies after his private plane explodes during a flight and the police thinks his daughter, Barbara killed him because of an argument.

Billy Fletcher is accused of murdering the private investigator who blackmailed him but he says he was only following him according to the plan of his father.

Jean Carter is said to have killed her friend after an argument with him and some people have seen her after the murder but she insists she hasn't been there.

Frank Donato is said to have murdered Anette James, the daughter of a powerful senator and only trust the Italian defense lawyer Tony Petrocelli.

When a woman is found dead in the desert, a young drifter who was the last seen with her is arrested cause his things were found with her. Petrocelli is assigned to defend him and the guy claims she picked him up and took him to a motel where he was with her but left as soon as he could and left his bag that had his things in it that were found with her body in her car. Petrocelli learns that the woman was the wife of a prominent businessman who saw other guys on the side. Which leads Petrocelli to think it could be her husband or one of her guys who killed her.

Pete's friend John Deiman is a cop who is said to have murdered his wife's lover but insists he's innocent so Pete asks Tony to help him out.

Frankie Toyer (aged 22 but mentally disabled) hears a woman screaming and tries to help but finds the woman dead. When the caretaker arrives, he finds Frankie and thinks he's the killer.

A student who was having a dispute with a professor walks into a lecture the man is giving, pulls out a gun and shoots him. When questioned, he doesn't remember anything. Which makes Tony's job more difficult.

Tony's childhood friend Frankie Copa (now a professional boxer) needs a defense attorney after his manager is beaten to death and Frankie is found on the scene.

Dr. Leo is arrested for murdering Rita Philips, the main financial supporter of Dr. Leo's hospital. The motive should be the end of support, but Petrocelli thinks the real killer must have a better motive.

Donna kidnaps her son from a powerful senator and strikes his secretary on the way out. Moments later the secretary is found dead in the pool and Donna is arrested for murder.

Mary Thorpe is accused of murdering her married lover, Raymond Walker after an argument about their affair.

A young man who was traveling with his family, is accused of killing a pharmacist. His mother goes to Tony to ask him to defend. Ponce thinks that he came to town to get medicine for his father and had no money to pay for it and that's why he killed him. Tony tries to figure out who else would have wanted to kill the man.

Bonnie Wakely, wife of popular and successful preacher Nathaniel Wakely, is arrested for murdering Nathaniel's manager. Tony needs more than faith to prove her innocence.

Ex-cowboy Clate Dobie is wanted for murder, but his three friend hire Petrocelli and take him to Clate's hideout.

A young man hires a beautiful young nurse to live with and care for the man's elderly, wheelchair-bound grandfather. The nurse's "charm" hides a sadist who couldn't care less about her patient's welfare. The young man soon finds out that his grandfather is being shamefully neglected. One night, the nurse is found murdered, a hypodermic needle slammed into the base of her brain. It's clear that she was killed during an argument, and the grandson is the prime suspect. When the grandson asks Petrocelli to quiz his grandfather, Petrocelli learns that the grandfather died ...

A 'kept woman' is accused of murdering her boyfriend, a local Syndicate figure who used her for his personal punching bag. When she tells Petrocelli that some of her expensive jewelry is missing, he wonders if there was someone else present in the room at the time of the slaying, and he's right. The problem is, that other party turns out to be a cat burglar, who refuses to be a 'snitch'.
