An innkeeper is visited by a surprise guest with surprising demands, habits and requests. The guest insists on helping around the inn and yet is easily startled and somewhat suspicious in his knowledge of the world. The innkeeper is startled by her own speculation and deductive reasoning regarding her guest.

A woman on a solitary camping trip decides to move on to avoid a chatty and talkative older man preferring the company of a chatty and talkative older woman instead. The two talk about anything and everything while camping indoors. They drink alcohol and trade stories.

A woman acquaintance arrives at the inn and is greeted by her friend the proprietress. The newcomer is back after a year having been to Estonia most recently. She had also stored a number of her prints at the inn. She intends to burn the photographs and not have them stored any longer.

The inn's proprietress is on a walk at a whim on her day off. She runs into the local delivery man who also has a day and, like her, is footing it to a local spring water source. Having filled their tumblers she invites the man inside for some daytime drinking. They chitchat about this and that.

A man from the innkeeper's past appears at her door suddenly. It is revealed that they were friends, involved and co-workers for over thirty years at a coffee shop. They begin to drink coffee, walk, talk and reminisce together. They are comfortable with one another and can be open and frank.
