Ann-Mari begins peace negotiations in Turkey, where she must confront both war crimes and the old wounds of her past.

Ann-Mari sends Emilia and Diyar to investigate mass graves near Turkey's border. Ann-Mari notices that someone from higher up wants to withhold crucial information from her.

Ann-Mari manages to arrange a secret meeting with the Kurdish leader Binav Bashur, who is in exile. However, the meeting does not go according to plan, which puts them both in danger.

The persecution of Kurds begins in Istanbul. Ann-Mari and her team are deported from the country. To Ann-Mari's shock, Diyar is detained and not allowed to leave the country.

Ann-Mari and Emilia travel to Spain to find out what has happened to the Finnish weapons. There is an explosion at the Alhambra fortress. Who is behind the attack?

To Ann-Mari's surprise, the man who captured Alhambra, Zamen Essayah, wants to meet with her. Zamen wants to send a message to the whole of Europe. Ann-Mari prepares for the dangerous negotiations that will take place in the captured fortress.

Ann-Mari and Tom meet with Zamen in Alhambra. Zamen is prepared to surrender, but the situation in Alhambra gets out of hand. A firefight breaks out, and casualties are unavoidable.

Ann-Mari sends Asier and Emilia to a refugee camp to gather more information about Zamen's plans. There is a new attack, and Ann-Mari's worst nightmare comes true.

Ann-Mari travels to Finland and gets support from an unexpected party. Tom finds out that Zamen is chased by other people as well. Is Tom able to warn Zamen before it is too late?

Unbeknownst to the authorities, Zamen arrives in Finland to meet with Ann-Mari, but they seem to have radically different starting points when it comes to building Kurdistan. The situation between Ann-Mari and Zamen turns threatening.
