Piotr, an investigative journalist, is on the track of a major financial fraud which turns out to be very personal for him. Piotr gets his article published and is convinced that he's closed the case. Then he receives a mysterious message.

Piotr tries to establish the connection between Daniel and the businessman, Adrian Bogusz. He embarks on a private investigation which puts own life and the lives of his close family are at risk.

Piotr discovers that the scandal is much more gruesome than he originally suspected. He realizes that someone is trying to manipulate him. Monika is on the track of a scandal that involves some prominent political and business figures.

Piotr discovers the identity of the source who tipped him in Bogusz's case. He forces the informer to cooperate, and discovers the roots of the conspiracy go many years back. Weronika and Kuba go to Kraków to check this tip.

Piotr's nephew disappears suddenly. Piotr and Ewa start their own search. During their investigation, Piotr discovers the brutal truth about his own brother. Eventually, when he uncovers key evidence in the case, he is violently assaulted.

Piotr is forced into hiding. Andrzej, who has committed himself to solving the case, offers Piotr a helping hand. They find a man who may be central to unveiling the mystery. But time to crack the case is fast running out.
