Liliana is a young, pretty woman from a struggling family and is late for her interview in a modeling agency where she bumps into the charming Luis Fernando. Valentina, the rich and spoiled daughter of Carlota and Roberto Uribe returns from Europe and ruins a photo shoot, demanding to replace the model. Carlota has a secret regarding Valentina, doesn't get along with her and cares about money and prestige.

Liliana is hired, spends the lunch break with Luis Fernando in the park but Lulú dislikes their closeness and warns her to keep away from him. Valentina is determined to be the model for the new campaign and ambushes Didier Pascal at the airport while Carlota is wondering why he didn't show up for the meeting. Emilia catches a TV program where a doctor explains the psychic connection between twins.

Liliana wins a ticket to attend the presentation of the new campaign and when she returns home there's a bouquet from Luis Fernando. Antonio is doing a job in the Uribe's house when accidentally he stumbles upon a photo of a little girl. Valentina has full control during the interview, over-shines Carlota and asks Ricardo out. Lulú uses Liliana's dizzy spell as a reason to try to fire her.

Valentina is basking into everyone's admiration during the presentation and does everything to get Ricardo's full attention while Carlota struggles to suppress her jealousy. Liliana feels weird since her brief encounter with Valentina and gets special attention from Luis Fernando despite Lulú's attempt to make her leave.

Liliana wakes up, screaming and being in a terrible pain while Valentina is rushed to the hospital and forgoes more than one operation. The surgeon delivers the bad news to Roberto regarding the consequences to Valentina's appearance. Carlota is consumed with the business and Julián suggests to make Liliana a model to replace Valentina. Lulú uses Liliana's absence and goes behind Luis Fernando's back to fire her.

Liliana is fired but not for long when she's offered to become a model and replace Valentina. Carlota orders Julián to take in Liliana during the preparations for her modeling debut and when Manuel informs her of Roberto's decision to divorce her, Carlota starts acting like the perfect wife. Antonio is drunk again and goes to Uribe's house to demand the return of the daughter they've stolen.

Liliana has a makeover, starts modeling lessons under the supervision of Eva but becomes anxious to discover that she can't leave the house nor use the phone. Carlota insists that Valentina should start psychiatric treatment and learns that Roberto has given all his shares to his daughter. Luis Fernando talks to Carmen regarding Liliana's new job and arranges for Emilia to have a health care insurance.

Valentina is devastated when she sees the facial scar and in her anger she attacks McLaren by simply moving a knife with her thought. Manuel is suspicious of Carlota being unfaithful. Julián agrees to help Liliana visit her parents and to meet with her boyfriend. Lulú intercepts a note for Luis Fernando, tears it up and convince him to go celebrate her birthday in a club. Antonio is drunk and accuses Carlota of stealing his child.

Emilia is burning with fever and Carmen with Luis Fernando's help check her into a hospital. Liliana is heartbroken, packs her things and wants to return home but her attempt is stopped by Carlota and Ricardo. Valentina is depressed and won't eat. Carlota ceases Manuel's intention to inform Roberto of her affair and meets with Gustavo to acquire a gun.

Carlota goes too far when she frames Antonio for murder. Valentina sees a TV commercial of the perfume and gets furious when she realizes the model is not her. Luis Fernando and Carmen are investigating all modeling agencies, which might have hired Liliana when Lulú shows up to deliver the news about the murder. Liliana promises to follow Carlota's orders, thinks her father is innocent and is released to return home.

It's a difficult night for everyone. Roberto orders Carlota to present the model, who took Valentina's place or he'll freeze her assets. Liliana and Luis Fernando get into a fight over recent events but things become complicated when he stumbles upon Julián at the hospital. Valentina gets drunk and can't stop thinking about her double. Carmen spends the night with Dario.

Valentina starts using her powers and she decides to allow Liliana to continue to pose for her. A doctor examines Liliana and gives her a medication for her seizures while Luis Fernando can't drag the truth out of her regarding her sudden disappearance and her acquaintance with Julián. Carlota suggests to Roberto that her protege Ricardo could take over Manuel's position.

Valentina is on hunger strike until Roberto arranges with Liliana the fulfillment of her wish. Luis Fernando takes Carmen to a jewelry store to show her the engagement ring he's buying but they're unaware that someone is stalking them. Julián tells the truth to Liliana regarding Valentina's accident. Carlota puts on a wig and goes to the city archives and Antonio is spying on her.

Liliana is struggling to fulfill all of Valentina's demands while she's barking orders at her and treating her like a slave. Carlota drugs Remedios and extracts a confession from the maid. Luis Fernando confronts Julián regarding Liliana's modeling job. Emilia misses Antonio and finds Liliana's explanations about his whereabouts suspicious.

Liliana poses for Valentina during her first day back in the company, agrees with Luis Fernando's report, which proves that the modeling agency is in fact in trouble and finally puts Lulú at her place. Valentina has a nurse, looking after her since Remedios is acting delirious. Emilia is delighted that there's a telephone installed in the house.

Liliana breaks her engagement after what she saw in the parking lot and later at the office when she poses for Valentina, she walks on Lulú giving Luis Fernando a rub. Marcia observes Carlota putting poison in Remedios' glass. Valentina is furious and starts breaking things with her mind when McLaren lists all of the changes that would occur in her room.

Liliana is visited by Lulú, who shamelessly spills a bunch of lies about Luis Fernando and during the visit makes sure that her rival notices the engagement ring in her possession. Luis Fernando meets Dario at the gym, who tells him about the weird state Liliana has returned home last night. Valentina starts therapy with McLaren and shows him how much power she has over Liliana.

Valentina is tempering with a knife, thinking about committing suicide when a phone call saves her. Liliana meets with McLaren and confides in him the whole story about how she became Valentina. Marcia and Remedios form an alliance. Emilia reunites with Antonio. Carlota learns interesting details about the papers of her car crash years ago and in the mean time she manages to give Ricardo a fancy flat.

Valentina forces Liliana to break up with Luis Fernando for good and decides to forgo another cosmetic surgery to improve her looks. McLaren wins Liliana's thrust. Remedios and Marcia run away. Carlota hangs to Ricardo a lot of money and when she discovers that the staff has left, she frames them for theft. Luis Fernando asks Roberto about his niece Ximena and learns an interesting fact.

McLaren prepares Valentina for the latest cosmetic surgery. Liliana resumes to pose for Valentina and has dinner with Luis Fernando, who offers his friendship. Lulú has a nervous outburst when she discovers that Luis Fernando has moved her into another office. Carlota pressures the marionette - Liliana to sign some papers and orders Gustavo to cut the telephone line of Emilia and Antonio's residence.

Liliana, still being Valentin,a has to work hard to sell all the expensive clothes that Carlota ordered her to buy, and Luis Fernando is very impressed. Lulú objects to the new photos and Ricardo notices that her sulking is due to Luis Fernando's fascination with the boss' daughter. Valentina is in recovery from the operations and has sexual dreams of Luis Fernando. Emilia and Antonio lock themselves in the house.

Liliana by being Valentina handles the business smoothly, raises the profits but Luis Fernando constantly invites her out and she is worried he might reveal who she is. Emilia and Antonio fall into Gustavo's hands and get driven to another location. Luis Fernando does a little spying and comes to a conclusion regarding Valentina. Lulú is determined to stop a possible romance between Luis Fernando and Valentina.

Valentina is getting better and better but her feelings for Luis Fernando worry Roberto. Lulú is rejected again by Luis Fernando but her obsession drives her to start an affair with a co-worker. Carlota and Ricardo successfully manipulate Liliana to sign all kinds of papers that make them richer and richer on top pf that Luis Fernando insists she tells him the truth about living a double life.

The Uribe house is full with guests to welcome back Valentina. Roberto is grateful to Liliana for everything and decides that she would remain working for the company but under her own identity. Valentina focuses on winning Luis Fernando and threatens Liliana never to make attempts to revive their relationship. Emilia is listening to a radio program and it seems she has lost her memory.

Valentina ruins Liliana's good name when she lies to Luis Fernando that she's a gold-digger and has an affair with Roberto. Marcia shows Remedios the original papers of Carlota's miscarriage. Lulú learns that Liliana will take over her position and when she goes clubbing with Ricardo, he tells her the grand deception happening for the last couple of months. McLaren concludes Liliana's lack of will and dependence.

Luis Fernando follows Carmen to a hotel room, where he finds Liliana, dressed in McLaren's shirt and when she tells him about the danger her parents are, he won't believe a word. Lulú and Ricardo conclude they were made for each other and she helps him to get leverage against Carlota. Valentina is obsessed with Luis Fernando and offers McLaren a deal. Marcia confronts Carlota and demands money.

Valentina has a new ally - Lulú, who mistakes her for Liliana and threatens her with jail because of the embezzlement. Luis Fernando questions Dario about the whereabouts of Liliana's parents and learns from Roberto that she declined the position in the company. Carlota acts sympathetic when Gustavo ensures Liliana that her parents would be released one at a time. Emilia has a flashback.

Liliana is hiding from the authorities in Julián's apartment. Valentina is loosing patience since Liliana hasn't been detained yet and goes to Luis Fernando to tell him about the embezzlement. Padre Sanin informs Carmen of Antonio's whereabouts. McLaren intends to take Liliana abroad to break her dependence.

Liliana is arrested and Valentina arranges to visit her in the cell, where she uses mind control to force Liliana to write a letter, confessing to committing fraud. Marcia and Remedios check Emilia into a hospital. Antonio makes an anonymous call to Carlota. Lulú advises Ricardo how to get his share of the stolen money. Julián, McLaren, Carmen, Dario and Rojas wonder about Liliana's whereabouts.

Liliana is in prison and Luis Fernando hires Mancini to defend her but instructs him never to tell who hired him. Roberto doubts that Liliana is guilty despite Valentina, Lulú and Carlota's words. Antonio plays a trick on Carlota. McLaren is determined to take Liliana to Canada as soon as possible. Lulú is caught ferreting in Carlota's safe.

Carlota demands from Gustavo to present her with proof that the Castillos are dead. Liliana is examined by a medical council to determine whether she is certifiable. Valentina is determined to keep Liliana in prison and offers Mancini a bribe. Emlia comes to and thinks she has just given birth to twins. Carmen informs Padre Sanin of Liliana's arrest. Luis Fernando isn't in love with Valentina and attempts to talk to Liliana.

McLaren asks Luis Fernando to lie that Liliana was his patient for a long time. Carmen and Dario take Antonio to a psychic. Two policemen arrest Emilia for being without papers and in a nightgown in public. Lulú is hiding in the bathroom when Carlota arrives at Ricardo's flat and gives him the diskette. Valentina strikes a deal. Roberto puts a lock on the liquor cabinet.

Carlota is devastated to discover that her lover has left her. Liliana is moved into a psychiatric clinic. Dario gets into an accident. Gustavo introduces himself to Marcia, lies to her that Emilia's name is Flor and that she is his sister. Valentina is enraged when she learns that Liliana is moved to a clinic thanks to Luis Fernando.

Luis Fernando apologizes to Liliana for ever doubting her innocence. Lulú informs Carlota of Ricardo's phone call and that during all those years he was with the company, he never stopped hitting on her. Valentina goes baby shopping and makes a business proposal to Carlota. Carmen is in mourning but tells Antonio where is Liliana. Gustavo persuades Marcia and Remedios to take him in.

Luis Fernando and Roberto find Valentina unconscious after taking too many pills. Carlota is displeased with Roberto's rules about sleeping in separate bedrooms and his knowledge of her affair. Emilia has a nightmare that raises doubts in Marcia and Remedios whether the man, who introduced himself as her brother is telling the truth. Liliana is heartbroken when she learns about Valentina's condition.

Valentina and Luis Fernando are engaged and she pays Carlota to keep her secret. Liliana faces the medical council when she suddenly starts acting too invigorated. Marcia and Remedios smear some sleeping pills into Gustavo's food. Antonio gets drunk and makes a scandal at the gates of the clinic when Luis Fernando arrives and stops him.

Liliana is depressed after learning of Luis Fernando's engagement and McLaren gives her an advice how to cure her heartache. Valentina has an argument with Luis Fernando and she gets in trouble in a bar, buying drugs, and the most unexpected person comes to her rescue. Marcia gets in touch with an old acquaintance to help her with Emilia's amnesia. Caroloco urges Carmen to get on with her life.

Liliana starts working with the other patients and she takes interest in one particular case. Roberto is determined to get Liliana out of the clinic and discovers who has hired Mancini. Amparo accepts to admit Emilia and asks McLaren to help her restore her memory. Valentina presses Carlota to do everything to keep Liliana in the clinic but still has nightmares of Luis Fernando dumping her.

Things become weird when Liliana is rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound and Valentina experiences everything the wounded feels, including a mind shift. Carlota strongly denies to have anything to do with the shooting and convinces Julián to take Valentina to his flat. Luis Fernando stands by Carmen, who is worried sick for Liliana. Emilia recognizes Caroloco, riding his bike.

Liliana and Valentina have an out of body experience while everyone is going crazy with worry. Roberto is alone in the house in the middle of wedding preparations, which he asks Lulú to take care of. Caroloco drags Antonio to the church to pray for Liliana and they're unaware of the presence of Emilia, Marcia and Remedios in the other part premises. Luis Fernando won't leave Liliana's side although it's his wedding day.

Valentina and Luis Fernando tie the knot as they decide to do it in a small circle of friends and family. Carmen, Antonio and Caroloco pay a late visit to the medium to ask for help finding Emilia. Liliana feels like she has been reborn and is very thankful to McLaren. Emilia decides to leave in the middle of the night and ask the police to help her find her family.

Liliana is healing miraculously fast, feels powerful and is happy to experience a family reunion. McLaren and Mancini are arguing with the doctor, who is reluctant to discharge Liliana. Valentina is furious with the news of Liliana's clearing of all charges, feels that her husband doesn't love her and accidentally finds a place of occultism with a powerful medium. Luis Fernando is sad that Liliana is acting distant.

Liliana uses her memories to draw the face of the woman, who helped her wake up from the coma. Valentina gets all sorts of magic stuff to make Luis Fernando fall in love with her. Lulú fires Carmen but she doesn't leave quietly. Carlota is furious with Gustavo's incompetence. Luis Fernando arranges a meeting between Mancini and Antonio, who tells him what happened that day when Arismendi was killed.

Valentina storms out in the middle of night, goes dancing in a club, where her savior comes to defend her honor again. Liliana has a consultation with Guiomara and finds time to forbid Luis Fernando to use any sort of pretext to keep visiting her. Roberto notices Valentina doesn't have a baby bump yet. Marcia ambushes Carlota again to ask for money but this time, she is unaware that the rich lady has other plans.

Liliana and McLaren are having dinner in a restaurant and unfortunately they bump into Valentina and Luis Fernando. Guiomara is trying to understand the connection between Liliana and the woman she drew. Roberto is enraged and disappointed when he learns that Valentina isn't pregnant. Remedios is alone and wondering why Marcia is so late. Luis Fernando is confused and powerless to resist his wife's passion.

Luis Fernando wants a divorce and makes several attempts to get in touch with Liliana. Valentina breaks Liliana's window, has to move back home but things get much worse for her when Roberto discovers she is involved in witchcraft. Carlota pressures Julián to do something about McLaren, who poses a threat to her. Liliana agrees to go with McLaren to Canada while her family strongly approves of him as her suitor.

Valentina is rushed to the hospital and since her blood type is very rare only Liliana could be a blood donor. Luis Fernando presses McLaren for answers but he is too evasive. Julián's guilty conscience is driving him mad and when he tries to tell the truth to Roberto, he stumbles upon Carlota, who confesses to him more than one of her crimes. Emilia and Antonio learn about Valentina's miscarriage and suicide attempt.

Liliana has to deal with the truth. Luis Fernando is confused after his meeting with Mancini and when he goes to McLaren to ask for answers, Liliana is there, so he uses the situation to clear a few problems. Roberto tells Valentina that he'll cut her off after her recovery. Julián and Eva are packing their things when Carlota arrives to deal with them.

Liliana fails to talk to Valentina calmly and is very disturbed by Carlota's statement that Antonio has sold her twin sister.Luis Fernando manages to get Gustavo's car registration plates. Carmen enlightens Roberto who and how fired her and he promises to rehire her. Carlota does everything to mellow Valentina and get back the gun but since she is stalling her, Carlota decides to tell her the truth about her birth.

Valentina believes Carlota's lies, puts on black make-up and goes out to drink. Padre Sanin helps Liliana to question Antonio about whether he really sold her twin sister. Carmen buys a present for Roberto while Lulú is furious that she has been rehired and with a juicy pay. McLaren warns Carlota to stop with her inhumane methods to torment people.

Valentina is indifferent regarding her appearance and thinks only about her origin while Roberto is acting very tender towards her. Antonio is in jail, screaming that the Uribe family stole his child. McLaren acts patient but resumes to push Liliana for marriage and leaving the country when Luis Fernando shows up and interrupts their discussion. Lulú sponges half of the money that Ricardo stole. Julián writes two letters.

Liliana and Luis Fernando speculate on the future and she is unable to deny her feelings for him. Valentina is under duress by Carlota and during the night falls into the pool. Roberto learns the ugly truth about his wife's crime and has a delightful chat with Carmen. Emilia can't believe how or why Antonio is in jail. Lulú is determined to get compensation.

Liliana apologies to Antonio and visits Luis Fernando to ask him to get close to Valentina again in order to help her accept who she is. Lulú brings Carlota to her place to confront Ricardo but he's long gone and has left only a note. Emilia is shocked after seeing Valentina in the police station and takes a taxi to follow her. Roberto talks to Mancini to take steps to deprive Carlota of any inheritance.

Valentina is terrified not to loose her wealthy lifestyle or Roberto if he learns the truth about her birth, so she contacts Liliana and tells her that she renounces her family. Roberto visits Ricardo in jail and advises him to tell the truth about the embezzlement and the murder of Arismendi. Emilia presses Luis Fernando to tell her the truth about Valentina. Carlota and her new accomplice Lulú get drunk and plot.

Liliana starts throwing up while Valentina is overeating. Emilia is very distraught, nothing could comfort her and she blames Antonio for their misfortune. Carmen feels awkward that is so taken with the boss. Roberto meets with a solicitor to give all his fortune to Valentina. Lulú is stalking Luis Fernando and Mancini, who meet with a sketch artist. McLaren discovers the twins' eating disorder.

Liliana stops Emilia from confronting Carlota by showing her Julián's letter. Julián is shocked to discover that the nanny of one of his co-workers is a woman he knows all too well. Carlota puts on her poker face when she visits Ricardo in jail and learns who put him there. Lulú learns from Luis Fernando that Carlota is a murderer. Liliana uses mind control to force Valentina to look at the family album she made for her.

Liliana chooses between Luis Fernando and McLaren, and decides to go to Canada. Valentina is moved into Roberto's room, learns about Antonio's arrest and makes a deal with McLaren. Emilia overhears that Roberto is looking for a nurse for Valentina and she offers her services. Gustavo, disguised as a lawyer visits Ricardo in the cell. Carlota acts like a victim in front of Lulú and blames Roberto for everything.

Liliana arrives in Canada and is checked into a clinic by McLaren, who in his notes blames Luis Fernando for the source of all of the twins' problems. Roberto walks on Carlota, who has put a pillow over Valentina's face. Mancini gets to the bottom of Ricardo's poisoning. Lulú sees the other side of Carlota but remains loyal. Luis Fernando packs his bags, buys a ticket to Canada and is determined that nothing would stop him.

Valentina is pampered and fed breakfast in bed by Emilia while Liliana is starting her treatment with McLaren and his mentor. Carlota resides at Lulú's flat and when she goes to clean up her office, a scandal erupts between her and Roberto. Luis Fernando is swamped with work and decides not to follow Liliana.

Valentina feels better, gets out of bed, eats regularly thanks to Emilia and starts working out. McLaren has a difference of opinion with his mentor regarding Liliana's case. Luis Fernando gets drunk and makes a spectacle of himself at work. Ricardo won't talk and is being transferred straight from the hospital to prison. Carlota has a meeting with her lawyer. Antonio meets the prison's top dog.

It's a difficult night when Liliana travels to another dimension, with McLaren's help to break free from her twin's influence while Emilia stands by Valentina, who is suffering terribly. Carlota and Lulú bond further and plot how to take revenge on Roberto. Carmen and Roberto are out dancing and she gets uncomfortable when he asks her to spend the night together.

Carlota takes her revenge when Lulú drugs Roberto and Carmen's coffees. Luis Fernando declines to talk to Liliana and tears up their photo. Valentina confronts Liliana for the first time since the Canadian trip and wants to know who is Emilia. Antonio plans to kill Ricardo.

Roberto and Carmen are checked into a hospital and Valentina takes over the company in his absence while Emilia won't give up on her daughter. Liliana and Luis Fernando get a chance to clear the air when he answers the phone instead of her and hears a voice that drives him insane. Antonio drags a confession from Ricardo and pressures him to repeat it in court. Fernández won't give Carlota the negatives.

Liliana drags out of Emilia what actually happened with the letter she wrote to Luis Fernando. Valentina notices that she has lost her mind control over Liliana, realizes she has no one except Roberto and begs Luis Fernando to convince the Castillos to forget about her. Carlota takes care of Gustavo.

Valentina is determined to kill herself when an inexplicable force stops her and she meets a journalist, who recognizes her instantly. Carlota successfully manipulates Lulú to put off her mind the murder and continues to call the shots. Emilia tells Roberto the truth.

Carlota is popping pills and she makes a bank withdrawal, Roberto ambushes her in the street and almost chalks her. Liliana brings Emilia home since Valentina doesn't want them in her life and when she goes to the hospital to collect Carmen, she learns that Antonio is in prison. Valentina, Luis Fernando and Mancini discuss the inevitable scandal that would hit Roberto if the media gets a hold of the dirty pictures.

Liliana starts to use her influence over Valentina to make her change her behavior. Luis Fernando falls into a jealous rage since after so much tries, he gets a chance to speak to Liliana but in her house, he stumbles upon McLaren waiting for her. Valentina is in peril when Carlota ambushes her. Julián and Remedios embark on their mission to find Marcia. Roberto discovers the name of Carlota's accomplice.

Luis Fernando is visited by McLaren at work, who begs him to stop being jealous and reconcile with Liliana. Roberto meets with the blackmailer. Valentina has a nice time with the journalist, who wants to write her story. Carlota and Lulú see the latest news on TV, pack their bags and spend the night in the car outside the Uribe house. Marcia agrees to accompany Julián and Remedios back to the city to set the record straight.

Carlota uses Valentina as bargaining chip to blackmail Roberto while Liliana is trying to keep in contact with her twin in order to find her. Marcia's guilty conscience knows no rest. Rafael takes advantage of the situation and writes a hot scoop, describing the twins' connection.

Liliana, Luis Fernando, Roberto and McLaren start a search party in the jungle without the help of the authorities, looking for Valentina, who is in grave danger. Meanwhile Antonio has to face the court with the support of family and friends.
