The final 36 contestants are given the challenge to write, direct and edit a short film in 24 hours or face elimination.

The top 18 finalists present their short films.

Three of the Top 18 Finalists are eliminated based on viewer votes.

The Top 15 Director Finalists find out which one of them has been served his or her "final cut" and is eliminated from the competition during ON THE LOT's "Box Office Results" show, "1 of 15 Directors Voted Off".

One director is eliminated from the competition. Contestants showcase personal submission films. Director David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada) appears as a guest judge. Films screened: "Polished" by Andrew Hunt, "Love at First Shot" by David May, "Edge on the End" by Kenny Luby, "Dance with the Devil" by Marty Martin, and "Beeline" by Shira-Lee Shalit.

One director is eliminated from the competition. Contestants showcase personal submission films. Director Wes Craven (The Hills Have Eyes, A Nightmare on Elm Street) appears as a guest judge. One director is eliminated from the competition. Contestants showcase comedy films. Director Mark Waters (Just Like Heaven, Mean Girls) appears as a guest judge. Films screened: "Discovering The Wheels" by Adam Stein, "How To Have A Girl" by David May, "Under The Gun" by Hilary Graham, "Dr. In-Law" by Shalini Kantayya, "Nerve Endings" by Will Bigham, and "Die Hardly Working" by Zach Lipovsky.

One director is eliminated from the competition. Contestants showcase films based off of when two worlds collide. Director Luke Greenfield (The Girl Next Door, The Animal) appears as a guest judge.
