Augustus is all alone in Oebele and has to put on a rather unexpected holiday program. But because he forgot to send out the invitations, everybody else is away on holiday. Aagje is in France, Koen is stuck in the rain, Paulus is pretending to be his pirate grandfather at sea and most of the children's choir is camping at Lommerbergen.

The inhabitants of Oebele are celebrating their ancestors move across the Atlantic to Texas. There they formed Oebele City between Buffel and Cactus near the Koetjeboe Rocks. Augustus' grandfather was the sheriff, Left Hand Gus. Of course postmaster Paul the loser was an ancestor of Paulus the postman. Koen's great grandfather Cowboy Koen was wanted for robbing the stage coach. However, according to Koen, the real culprit was Cactus Martin. As luck would have it, a man who bares a great resemblance to Cactus Martin arrives in present day Oebele to perform with his ...
