One year after Nya saved Ninjago City and became one with the sea, Cole tries to get the team back together.

Nya, who is now a water dragon, begins to uncover her true identity after she rescues a drowning man. With the help of another water elemental, Nyad, Nya searches for her lost memories.

As the ninja search for how the vengestone is being transported, Nya tries to separate herself from the sea.

Knowing that Nya can be saved, the ninja try to break Aspheera out of the Kryptarium Prison while Skyler keeps Nya frozen and in human form.

With Aspheera now free, the ninja get Cyrus Borg's help to get the staff that can bring Nya back to her human form.

With Aspheera now free, she and Wu have a series of contests to work things out as the ninja help save Nya.

With the ninja in prison, a new villain rises on to the scene and invites many of the ninja's previous enemies.

Crystal spiders continue to recruit villains to join the council of the mysterious Crystal King. Nya is reminded of her days as Samurai X.
