Determined not to go to prom unless her ex-boyfriend Philip takes her, Sierra is publicity humiliated when he ditches her in the street for his best friend that he's not so secretly screwing.

Sierra takes solace in Dylan for the summer, and he decides to take it to the next level when she leaves for college.

Sierra is struggling to maintain her long distance relationship with Dylan when she meets the man of her every dream, Samuel.

Sierra tries to breakup with Dylan, but he's not going down without a fight. Samuel shows his true colors but not his true intentions.

Conflicted with Samuel's disregard for her feelings, Sierra's realizes she might have been played and decides to try to see other people. Those other people are not trying to see her though.

Sierra is slowly beginning to dislike not only her surroundings, but herself.

Sierra learns that she should have taken Avery's red flags much more seriously and suffers dearly for it.

Sierra forgets what she learned in the first chapter.

As the result of her string of past relationships, most recently with very much one-side situationship with Zahir, Sierra decides she wants to leave Mizzou.

Sierra begins a brand new and existing life in Florida only to realize her heart is still in Missouri when Samuel comes back into the picture.

Back at Mizzou, Sierra does not get the reunion she was hoping for with Samuel.
