After the murder of a young single mother, the team of inspectors get together to investigate. The main inspector, Nikola, has a past with his school friends, are somehow connected to the investigation.

The first steps in investigation proved to be fruitless. Lekovic brothers seem suspicious. Ljubica has connections to both Lekovic brothers. Nikola visits Kinez in prison. Nikola has marital issues, his wife is desperate to have a child.

The past relationships seem to be more important than it seems at first. Boban, the inspector on the case is falling in love with his apprentice Milka. He has issues at home. Ljubinka is being threatened. A new murder occurs.

Ljubinka is missing. Boban and Milka investigate her disappearance. Nikola''s contacts with the neighbour is a vent the pressure he is under. More family problems are burden for all the police investigators. Another death happens.

New insight into Ljubinka's disappearance. Vasa, the police head and the investigation team boss is under a lot of pressure. He gets entangled in the complicated crimes and murder webs.

Nikola gets some details about his childhood from his mother. New leads on the girl trafficking but not on the serial killer. Boban and Milka are in love but it gets all more complicated. Ljubinka's part of the story gets closure.

All the dead ends in the investigation now fill in the puzzle. Another murder occurs which complicates the situation further. Police chief Vasa takes the investigation over and is on top himself.

Katarina, an old schoolfriend of Kinez and inspector Nikola comes back in their lives. The developments in the present throw light to some relationship in the past. Nikola is still soft on Katarina. The investigations move forward.

Vasa is the lead of the team for the last murder. He wants to avoid turning the investigation into political battle. All the players have family problems. Nikola is just one step behind the killer.

Nikola team are close to solving the problem. The past and present intersect. All the secrets are disclosed. The case is closed. Some things are put to rest. Some are still in the air.
