The plain and simple existence of four aspiring poets doesn't comply to their dreams and expectations. The unbearable lightness of reality leads to the realization they desperately need to become who they feel they really are.

A shrink who only sees his own finances shrink, hastily slaps together a commercial to try and enforce destiny. Four wandering souls are each looking for something different, but coincidence sees them finding each other.

An unforeseen phone call triggers a tidal wave of wistfulness, envy and (un)pleasant surprises. All of this on the day of the very first meeting of poetry collective Elevation.

Publisher and benefactor Harry De Baes invites Elevation's poets for a writing and team building weekend on an unknown destination. No one quite has the weekend they expected nor hoped for.

Fame beckons. Career-wise Elevation's poets have every reason to be happy. But they're not. Existential doubt, melancholy and financial worries are troubling them. Masks are falling off. Except on some shady film set.

Quite a few prominent guests in Ghent's literary scene are invited to Elevation's first poetry reading. Aza, Mitchell, Ludovic and Noor are determined to showcase their talents. Expectations rise high, but then gravity kicks in.

Time stands still and the clock ticks madly on. One month after the poetry reading, the road to happiness turns out to be a cul-de-sac. When words have vanished, only acts of hope can dissolve the deadlock.
